With a steaming mug of Irish tea in my cozy cogitative corner, it is understanding I seek.
We be I am, therefore, we think, of course y’all know this.
I be thinkin’ about thinkin’. Thinkin’ about the rivers of thoughts/words that ceaselessly flow through my awareness, sometimes rushing, at times meandering. But unlike a river of water that you supposedly never step in the same water twice, our thought currents seem to loop around and come back the same way across our minds. Thoughts as water…hmm.
Overt feelings can crash over you like a 1965 Redondo Beach ocean wave, knocking you down, forcing you to crawl on hands and knees to escape being swept away. Repeated wave thoughts like guilt, criticism, anger, and fear can batter and erode our bodies as aches, pains, infections, etc.
Floating down the Truckee River in the mid 1970’s drought, our raft got hung up often, making it necessary to reevaluate our position and push past the pools of older standing water. Maybe it’s best to avoid pooled stagnant, stale, rancid and foul thoughts, which tends to stink up our life.
It’s scary when you plunge over a huge boulder in the middle of a swift Sierra Nevada river and get stuck in a whirlpool, the water force is so powerful, and the 1980’s just started so you don’t want to die…perhaps the thoughts of “nothing goes right for me” and “the world is so cold & hard, what’s the use?’ pour over you and you feel you’re drowning, then shove away with all your determination.
Now, calm silent water, gently wash out of mind the dark negative thoughts. Shower everything with light positive loving thoughts. Everything imbued, soaked with love, with the intent of love, yep, thinkin’ love, in that vibrational magnetic field must lovingly quench our life thirst.
Aren’t you way old for the kiddie pool? No, I did not take your rubber ducky…that’s mine!
