With a steaming mug of Irish tea in my cozy cogitative corner it is understanding I seek.
It has been said “You will become what you think”,
Of course y’all know this!
When my children were born I was determined to not only speak and surround them with words of love and strength, morning, noon, and night, I also wanted them to know that they needed to be responsible and carefully choose their own thoughts to think.
I would select books, tapes, music and quotes etc and glean the most inspirational to post on the refrigerator and to read in the mornings while they ate their breakfast.
Fitting in the 10-15 minute breakfast-time of my “start with nourishing thoughts” philosophy, was a book by M.R. Kopmeyer “Thoughts to Build On” (c) 1970, with 80 short chapters that fit into the school year.
This book about the building blocks of life, “THOUGHTS”, is chalk full of thought stimulating information that is always relevant and well worth the effort to obtain a copy, read and think on.
While my efforts to get my children to think on these things didn’t make it past the whole-grain toast, there’s always the grandchildren to serve up a Nana’s “start with nourishing thoughts” breakfast!
This has been a deb’s witty ditty on deb’s ditty blog.
