With a steaming mug of hot herbs in my quiet enclave it is wisdom I seek.
When outside the bitter turbulence overwhelms, seeking solace, humans must eventually turn inside, of course y’all know this.
These last few weeks, seems our neighborhood’s been featured in a snow-globe, feeling like we’ve been living through an ice-age (though I didn’t see Manny, Sid or Diego to confirm this); many days of flying snow along with the quite frigid wind blowing through everything, has made an all-around chill-to-the-bone season.
It’s times like this when everything I learned in 1st grade comes in handy as I never learned anything in kindergarten, I totally skipped kindergarten. I LOOK around and I decide that it’s time to go inside where it’s cozy and safe. Not wanting snow-broth, some years ago I might have had a bowl of simmering chicken soup, these vegetarian days however I am more apt to grab a mug of hot drink, fresh out of-the-oven-cookies and look to warm my soul with a fond read… after I’ve washed my hands of course. The narrative would dish up goodness to the senses to wholly take delight in; cheery palette, sweet taste, a tender nutritious substance that is so stimulating, so inspiring, we heartedly say “Mmm Mmm Love, Mmm Mmm Good!” Say, someone should come up with a book series with wonderful nurturing stories under the title Chicken Soup for the Soul, I bet they’d make a million.
“To give five minutes to the realization of true divine love is greater than to pass a thousand bowls of food to the needy because, in giving forth love, you help every soul in the universe” Buddha. Love is always the heart of comfort, and that my friends is worth sharing.
I’m all for giving forth love… though, please pass that platter of MMM MMM LOVE scrumptiousness, as “I’m so rumbly in my tumbly”; who says Pooh and I can’t eat love?
This has been a deb’s witty ditty on deb’s ditty blog.
