A great thought-provoking article in my June 2024 National Geographic Magazine the New Science of Stress by Yudhijit Bhattacharjee & Brian Finke plainly states stress triggers that can affect any age, of any skin color/culture, at any time, and so getting familiar with these informational ideas would be well worth a read to help the reader take a pro-active de-stress stance. Chronically being stressed from whatever we “think” the “cause” is, it’s us putting the cause outside ourselves instead of what “we” are “inside thinking” about said “outside cause”. As everyone knows, it is not a “divorce” itself that causes stress, we all know people who’ve gotten a “divorce” with relief and happiness in their hearts.
This Nat Geo article maps out 7 stress busters for improved brain health and immune function and to regulate stress hormones. I have practice these 7 techniques most of my life along with the added ones of daily forgiveness, daily gratitude and daily love in meditations and prayers as a proactive LOVE CARTOGRAPHER. And while my life is MAPPED BY LOVE — as all are when the heart is the instrument giving direction — and is a life of very low stress in general, my geographical life journey has landed me on Heartbreak Ridge (excruciating loss), Damnation Alley (major health/body issues), and Nightmare on Deb Street (extreme anxiety/fear). Oh dear, this sounds like the horror/hellish movie section! It’s probably the Karma section.
No matter what is going on in your life always stay hopeful, take one step at a time. Start with one of the Stress Busters and then add another and then another. Should be some sunshine along your path in no time.
