With a steaming mug of hot herbs in my quiet enclave, it is wisdom I seek.
Love, The Stairway To Heaven is one of the 10,000 ways home, of course y’all know this.
Don’t know about you, however when I hear the words The Stairway To Heaven (C)1971, my mind starts singing Led Zeppelin. You know that lady who’s sure all that glitters is gold and she’s buying a stairway to heaven. Concentrate Deb!
Referencing metaphors and allegories throughout history that analogize the classic stages of mankind’s inner evolution, phases, or levels of consciousness. The Biblical example of the Patriarch Jacob who saw a ladder that reached up from the earth to heaven with angels ascending and descending inspired The Ladder Of Divine Ascent by John Climacus, a 6th century Orthodox Monk at Mt. Sinai Egypt, that used 30 rungs, sections, or steps. Fifteenth-century Italian Latinist Poet Dante featured 7 deadly sins as terraces through hell/purgatory before reaching the top of the mountain paradise to find God and love. 1500’s Spain, St Teresa of Avila wrote the Interior Castle or The Mansions; A beautiful Crystal Globe that as you journey with faith in service and prayer through the 7 stages, mansions, chambers, or dwelling places, you get nearer to the center, the stronger the light.
“Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow and did you know your stairway lies on the whispering wind? Blog!
What about a stairway to heaven, where the whole way is devoted to doing everything with love? The swell step can represent all the crap, deadly sins, evils, non-love choices and then we rise up in love, using the core principles of all the world’s religions, kindness, unconditional love, compassion, and humility on every love tread that leads to the ultimate reunion with Divinity.
“Where all are one and one is all, yeah to be a rock and not to roll”,…Oh dear, there I rolls!
This has been a deb’s witty ditty on deb’s ditty blog.
