With a steaming mug of hot lemon water near my yoga mat, it is flexibility I seek.
To flex or not to flex is not the question, for to flex is to “be” on the one hand, yet on the other hand to “be” is steady like a rock.
Of course y’all know this!
Being flexible is the game, and the name of this game is juggling. Years ago my mom and I, in our zeal to find interesting new ways of learning, enjoyed a workshop given by Kevin Stroupe, author of “Juggling and Reading, Transformation Is All The Same; Differently” (c) 1991.
I was totally sold on the benefits of juggling.
Time goes by…OK, a lot of time goes by and still I no juggle!
My grandson Hank is visiting us during his spring break and so I decide now would be a good time to learn to juggle. Hank would benefit learning a learning process, and being with his Nana, Gramps and cousin Tori, proving there are no age limits to learning, we just have to be willing to learn.
What a lesson!
The “one” ball I’m juggling keeps falling to the floor. The “second” ball I add to the “one” keeps falling to the floor. Hank, after dropping a ball “again”, I remind him “again” that he can do this, Hank through an exasperated hiss “Nana, I know I can do this!”, as he sits down to deep breath and say out loud “I can do this”.
Thinking positive, maybe I can add the third ball, “Oh Crap” maybe not…
Got to retrieve my ball that just hit the fan blades, ricocheted over to the window seal and bounced off to the floor.
