HIP SPIRIT: January 3, 2016
With a steaming mug of hot herbs in my quiet enclave, it is wisdom I seek.
2015, Buckets of Tears Year
Of course y’all know this!
In 2015 I cried tears for the thousands of fellow humans who died in Mother Nature’s disasters. Tears for Nepal, the Philippines, Texas, for all those who had too much water and those who didn’t have enough.
Tears for tragedies:for all the deaths due to the rationalized use of guns, and all other methods of inflicting death here and all over the world…there was a whole lot of meanness goin’ on.
Tears for Global wars and conflicts causing famine, disease and all kinds of suffering, resulting in millions of displaced people, the refugee’s, the migrants and the thousands who have drowned or disappeared trying to find a better life.
Tears at home, where our hearts reside, for all those we loved and who left us…and we can’t seem to stop crying over.
While pondering the meanings and the whys in all these happenings, perhaps the wisdom comes in the form of reflecting on how love connects us all, and in that love, may we find solutions for a better world.
Excuse me while I go pour these 2015 Buckets of Tears into my Waru…well, as soon as a path is cleared through the snow.
