With a steaming mug of hot passion tea in my cogitative corner it is wisdom I seek.
Amazing Grace truly is Amazing Love, for in Grace is to remember Divine love… of course y’all know this!
ACIM’s lesson’s #168 & #169 center on Grace. At the heart of grace is unconditional Divine Love (nothing to do with undeserved favor), which is awe-inspiring, extraordinary, simply just is. Grace is the world’s most noble hope.
ACIM’s text states “God’s Grace returns the mind into the endless present”, which without careful mindfulness, such a thought could make our mind not know if it was coming or going, getting stuck in a “what the?” twisted continual pretzel loop, without the yummy hot jalapeno cheddar cheese dip.
Amazing Grace / Amazing Love always brings us to right where we are right now, right here. So, crying out in despair from our world that seems full of one or more of the usual negative emotional suspects at any given time… guilt, hate, anger, FEAR (!) etc. like John Newton did during a violent 1748 sea storm that battered his ship was a call for Grace immediately… like, “Divine love, now if you please.” John Newton’s experience compelled him to write the words to a song some say is sung at least 10 million times a year, Amazing Grace! Now that’s a whole lot of amazing singing about Amazing Grace.
It’s Amazing Grace that saves us from our own wretched (rogue, uncontrollable, unruly, (plus id)) egos, saves us from our self, so we can now see.
Human voices ring out for all manner of reasons, in my husbands Rancho Del Mar neighborhood in the 1960’s (& 1970’s) from the corner house on his street, a mothers voice would yell out in a sing-song fashion “Me-e-e-lvin, come and get your half a sa-a-andwich!”; That is a mothers Amazing Grace / Amazing Love!
De-e-e-bbie, come and get your cho-o-o-clate!
This has been a deb’s witty ditty on deb’s ditty blog.
