With a steaming mug of hot Irish tea in my cozy cogitative corner, it’s understanding I seek.
If the power of love is in the act of giving, then there is no better gift to give than what is always and only within our power to give, of course y’all know this.
‘Tis the season for thinking a whole lot about giving and at the same time on our minds is the “reason-for-the-season”, that great love that truly is beyond human reasoning which could only radiate from our hearts.
Then perhaps we can set logic and rationale aside for a while, ponder true love that time stands still for, and give gifts reflecting that graciousness.
Unwrapping a lovely gift of forgiveness is most welcome. Now would be the perfect time to let go every person, place, event or thing that has drained us, tortured us, horrified us, frustrated us, outraged us, or caused us great disdain. Remember to give yourself the beautiful gift of forgiveness. Forgiveness warms all from head to toe.
There is no box big enough to keep compassion contained. Giving the magnanimous gift of compassion means seeing and delighting in each soul’s unique expressions while all the while understanding with wonder our sameness. Differently we’re the same, (CLAN OF HEARTS p.111). Remember your own wellbeing and give yourself the gift of compassion.
Kindness doesn’t even need fancy ribbons to be given, rather simply dishing it out makes for a richly delicious world. It’s quite extraordinary and satisfying, the happiness generated when we genuinely care and are more thoughtful of and towards others. I believe remembering to give ourselves kindness also, will make the joy glow in our lives ever brighter this season, and from season to season to season.
Love as forgiveness, compassion and kindness are gifts that just keep givin’…
Wait a minute, this gift you gave me looks suspiciously like the exact sweater I gave YOU last year!
